Shipping & Permit Info
Tax Exempt Customers: Only pertains to customers in Maine: Please send a scanned copy of your tax certificate to firstname.lastname@example.org and fill in your tax ID number in the provided field on the checkout page if you have not purchased from us before. We will manually remove the calculated amount of tax after the order is placed and send an updated invoice as needed, then change your status to tax exempt. This requires that you sign in with the same account each time.
Permits & Policies
We require a copy of any federally issued permits required by your country for capturing wild birds in order to purchase mist nets and any blood sampling supplies. If no permits are required in your locale, then please provide us with the names, addresses, and telephone/fax numbers of 3 professional wildlife experts who are familiar with your work. If possible, include one name of an ornithologist or person known by international conservation organizations. We maintain a strict code of ethics and only sell to individuals and organizations that can produce supporting documentation that authorizes proper use of research equipment. Forms of payment accepted: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, check by mail, wire transfer for international orders.
We also accept purchase orders on net-30 terms. Please note that we reserve the right to apply a 5% penalty per day for balances over 60 days old.
Shipping costs are extra and can be provided at the time of your order. We make every effort to deliver by the desired date, but requests should consider the limitations of the postal or other carrier services. We do our best to ensure international orders clear customs in a timely manner. Note that we do not ship via freight forwarders or consolidators.
We generally ship USPS Priority for domestic orders. For international orders, we ship Priority International for smaller orders and UPS Standard/Worldwide for larger orders. If you place an order over the phone or through email, please make note of your shipping preferences and delivery deadlines.
For Shipments Outside the U.S., the Purchaser Must:
1. Arrange any import license or other formalities;
2. Be responsible for any customs duties or other charges levied by his or her country;
3. Send full payment in U.S. dollars for the products with the order.
